Madhyapur Art Council, established in 1990 A.D, is a group of socio culturally conscious people, works for the preservation, promotion and the presentation of Nepalese traditional, classical, and folk music + dances.

To fulfill its aim, the organization is organizing various programs outside and with in the nation. The organization has been awarded by Chittadhar Award for the year 2003 and Hahpah Award for the year 2002 for its outstanding contribution in the field of preserving traditional culture.

The organization has conducted various music and dance training classes in various parts of Nepal and in India. The organization has performed hundreds of shows all over the nation and also in Finland, Germany, Slovenia and various parts of India.

MAC has done various seminars on traditional culture, and also published books - Newar Music Tradition and Khyaligulu. The book entitled Cultural Musical Instruments of Nepal Valley has been prepared by MAC and published by Newa Dey Daboo (Newar National Forum).
